Finally: Call Numbers for Browsing

The libraries of UIUC have acquired French books through various methods and with differing goals in the past, meaning other French Canadian authors with ancestry linked to the African diaspora might have been missed in this LibGuide.

The following call numbers can help with browsing for potentially overlooked writers in our collections. Remember that in our Main Stacks, the two systems are housed on different sides of the central stairwell, Dewey on the west and Library of Congress on the east. The front desk has directions.

   * Dewey Decimal Classes (on 3.5E)   813   |   845   |   846   |   847   |   847.1   |   847.6

   * Library of Congress Classes (on 9W)   PQ3919.2   |   PQ3949.2

Keeping in mind that the city of publication will likely say Montreal or Quebec if it was published be a Canadian author.
