Hoover's gives you access to best in class data made up of approximately 84 million private and public companies, including subsidiaries.  Below is a screenshot of the company list builder and its criteria. 

Search for a company in the search bar or build a company list on the left hand side. 


"Business and financial data on major, non-publicly traded corporations, including family owned, private equity owned, venture backed, and international unlisted companies." Contains data on over 650,000 U.S. private companies, over 100,000 private market deals and venture capital fundings, and over 18,000 private market market investors. May search by keyword as well as by industry.

Access is free for University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign users, but you must create an account. Sign up with your university e-mail address from the main page. Once inside, search by company or investor name.


Search for aa company or keyword in the search box. 


Or you can conduct an Advanced Search by clicking on the magnifying glass. 



Derwent Innovations Index via Web of Science

Field Searching for patents, including international patents.  You can also search by topic and get analysis of the results in which organization has the most patents. 

In the search box, type Cannabis. Once the results load, on the left-hand side, you can limit the results. 



WeedMaps contains a listing for dispensaries with many useful filters for brands, products, licenses, and more. 




Allbud is an open access resource directory of cannabis strains, dispensaries, doctors, and products.   Its main audience is the consumer with a careful eye for medical cannabis patients.  It also supplies purchasing tips and emerging news about the industry.

Leafly is a directory in which the website's goal is for the consumer or medical cannabis user discover cannabis products and order them from legal, licensed retailers. Leafly claims more than 125 million people visit its website each year to learn more about cannabis and order online with local businesses.
