PubMed for Veterinary Medicine: About PubMed

This guide offers tips for using PubMed as a research tool for veterinary and animal science.

About PubMed

PubMed is the premier source of biomedical literature in North America. Created and Maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM), PubMed contains more than 24 million references to articles in more than 5,600 journals; including approximately 110 veterinary and laboratory animal journals

PubMed is free to search for anyone with an internet connection, which makes it a great resource for veterinarians. UIUC affiliates should use this customized version of PubMed, which includes links to full text from the library.
