About environmental cost accounting
Environmental full-cost accounting (EFCA) is a cost accounting method that traces direct costs and allocates indirect costs by collecting and presenting information about the possible environmental, social and economic costs and benefits or advantages (triple bottom line) for each proposed alternative. It is also known as true-cost accounting (TCA). The publications on this page will help companies calculate the financial impact of pollution prevention projects and the true cost of their current operations. Although many of them are older, the techniques they describe are still valuable for today's practitioners. You can also find the subject of environmental cost accounting covered in publications dealing with total quality environmental management and the ISO 14000 family of standards.
