About Sociological Abstracts

Sociological Abstracts provides abstracts to articles, books, book chapters, dissertations & theses, and conference papers & proceedings in the disciplines of social and behavioral sciences. Subjects covered include: culture and social structure, family and marriage, history and theory of sociology, organizational sociology, political sociology, poverty and homelessness, race and ethnicity, social change and economic development, social con-trol, sociology of health and medicine, and sociology of education. There are publications listed from both within the U.S. and internationally, with over 20% of content published in a language other than English. The database has abstracted resources from over 1,800 serial publications, with cited references since 2002.

Accessing Sociological Abstracts

Ways to Access:

  1. From the Funk ACES Library homepage, click "Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES)" under "Funk Library supports research for." Then, under "Subject Specific," click "Sociological Abstracts."
  2. From the Library's Easy Search, search for "Sociological Abstracts," then select the direct link at the top of the suggestions box.
  3. From the A-Z Databases webpage, search for "Sociological Abstracts."
