BrowZine lets you browse, read, save, and monitor scholarly journals in your subject areas on your mobile device or desktop/laptop.

Introduction to BrowZine

  • Free to all U of I students, faculty, and staff
  • Find, read, save, email, and monitor the latest journal articles
  • Browse by title or subject to find journals of interest
  • Create a personal bookshelf of your favorite journals
  • Access many of the Library's online journals; a few subscriptions are not included so may not completely replace the catalog.
  • Download PDFs to read offline
  • Export to Zotero, Mendeley, Dropbox, EndNote, Box, or other services
  • Receive notifications when new articles are published
  • Easy authentication on mobile devices
  • When specific articles are unavailable, Browzine offers an option to send you to image of discover full text button that links you to the full text of an article or other item where you can easily submit an interlibrary loan request 
  • BrowZine web is now available. My Bookshelf is available and syncs with your mobile app.
    • Share option in BrowZine Web, users may click "Copy Link to Article." With these links, BrowZine automatically routes to the correct source. If the user is off campus or even affiliated with another institution, BrowZine will first route the user through their authentication portal.
  • My Articles is available on BrowZine Web or mobile. My Articles allows saving for offline reading on iOS or Android devices. More info
  • BrowZine offers a “Download PDF” option for many leading publishers. From the table of contents view, click the Expand option under each citation.
