The Music & Performing Arts Library has thousands of audio and video recordings on DVD, CD, and LP available to borrow.
Start with a keyword search for a specific performer, composer, ensemble, style, or song title in the library catalog and use the filters to the right to narrow your search. "Music Recording" is the best place to start to limit your search to only audio recordings, while "Movie" is the best for video recordings. "Audio CD" does not always include all of the CDs, so try to avoid using that filter.
Use the Topics and Names listed in the catalog records to find more recordings. For example, the topic Jazz 1951-1960 pulls up the jazz recordings from that time period. The names listed can help you find more recordings by that performer.
When searching the catalog for recordings, you may notice that a number of them are available to stream online. For example, the Jazz series by Ken Burns and PBS is available to stream and on DVD in the library. You can also access these recordings by going directly into the online collections listed below and searching.
