Be cognizant of the policies of your employer concerning the use of the employer’s resources and on-duty time to perform ‘partisan’ activities for specific social change.
For instance, any citizen can on their own time contact politicians on any issue, as long as in cases where there may be confusion about who the citizen is speaking for is made clear – e.g., that the comments are purely the person’s and not their employer. But they may not contact politicians for personal reasons on work-time or using work-resources.
It should be ascertained if any conflicts with employer positions on issues is detrimental to employment, employment policies, etc. before deciding to pursue.
