The popularity of environmentally-themed fiction has grown such that many literary festivals now have environmental themes. There are even environmental book festivals and awards that are a great resource for environmental books. They include:
The Blueberry List, which features books primarily for children ages three to ten, is divided into one overall winner and 34 additional Honor and Changemaker books. Changemaker books recognized for their outstanding achievement in rallying kids to climate action. The Evanston (IL) Public Library created the Blueberry Award in 2021 to fill a nationwide vacuum: no other children’s literature awards exclusively celebrate the best nature books that promote climate stewardship.
A literary prize celebrates the most inspiring novels tackling the climate crisis.The Prize is supported by global climate storytelling organization Climate Spring, which works with creatives, producers and commissioners around the world to support the development of new narratives for the climate crisis.
