This guide is meant to help you find some of the University of Illinois Library's most useful books in researching fairy tales. The books listed in this guide include translations and collections of primary texts, commentaries, and indices and bibliographies of fairy tales and criticism within the genre.
This guide is divided into two primary pages: Resources on Themes and Interpretations and Specific Countries. There are also separate pages devoted to the Brothers Grimm and Researching Folk and Fairy Tales through the UIUC Library system.
The Social Science, Health and Education Library (SSHEL) also contains guides for Folklore and Children's Literature that may provide helpful information.
If you have any questions or comments about this guide, please contact Paula Carns, head of the Literatures and Languages Library.
