Ways to Retrieve Articles
Find the best library databases for your research.
Look for this button. Many bibliographic databases to which the Library subscribes are "Discover-enabled." "Discover" is a tool that provides direct links from database citations to the full text of the articles or other content (if available).
The Library’s Online Library Catalog, VuFind, has a record for both print and electronic periodical subscriptions. To see if a particular title is available do a Title search in VuFind. Periodical records contain details such as what campus library(ies) have the print version and what volumes and years we have. If the Library has a subscription to the electronic version, a link will also be provided on the catalog record. The Online Journals & Databases

When the article or publication is not available through any of our campus libraries, a copy can be requested by UIUC students, faculty, and staff through Interlibrary Loan via an online form. Copies of articles and book chapters typically take 3-7 days, but in a growing number of cases same day turnaround is possible.
