Circulation policies
Most of our materials circulate, with a few exceptions (which depend on whether the borrower is a student, faculty, or community member).
Availability
The library catalog will also tell you whether the item is on the shelf or not.
Some examples of item statuses:
Available--if an item says 'available' and it's on the shelf, ask at the Reference Desk and we can help you track it down.
Checked out--you can request items that have been checked out
Backlog--ask for this at the circulation or reference desk and we can get it to you within about 2 days
Lost--this item has been marked lost because it is considerably overdue*
Missing-- the last time someone tried to find this item on the shelf it wasn't there*
*If you encounter items marked as lost or missing that you would like for us to replace, please come to the circulation or reference desks or fill out our online purchase recommendation form.
Listening/viewing facilities in the Library
The Library has several listening rooms and carrels that can accommodate any of the formats in our collection. We also have a video viewing room in which you can view any of our materials. You can also use the wireless connections on campus and in the Library to access our online resources.
Accessing library subscriptions from home
To access our online resources from off campus, you must use your Net ID. In some (rare) cases you may need to use the VPN client.
