Summer Reopening Plans

The Music & Performing Arts Library will be reopening on Monday, June 14th!

Starting June 14th, campus community members will be able to enter MPAL to pick up library materials, browse the collections, and use the computers, scanners, printers, and study areas. Group rooms will remain unavailable during the summer. MPAL will also show up as a pick up location when requesting materials through the library catalog from other campus and I-Share libraries.

Hours

Monday - Friday    1-5pm
Saturday - Sunday   CLOSED
*Closed July 5 for the holiday

Starting July 30, all individuals must wear a face covering inside university buildings, regardless of vaccination status. All campus community members (faculty, staff, and students) must show a building access entry status as “Granted” on the Safer Illinois app (or via the COVID-19 Boarding Pass option) in order to enter the Music Building where MPAL is located. Members of the local community can schedule appointments to visit MPAL via email to mpal@library.illinois.edu.

Requesting Materials

The Library has added new request options (see below) in the library catalog that will allow for local users to request the physical items for pick up and remote users to request digital access.

The Music & Performing Arts Library is also a pick-up location starting Monday, June 14th. When using the "Request Physical Item" option in the library catalog, select MPAL from the Library Pickup Location* dropdown menu.

Returning Materials

Please return all MPAL materials to the external drop boxes by the north entrance of the Music Building (across from the Krannert Center) or the internal ones just inside MPAL's gray doors. There is a dedicated return slot for media items and a separate one for books and scores.
