Information to help students researching vocal literature

Finding Settings in the Library Catalog

  1. Start in the Library Catalog and click "Advanced Search" to the right of the search bar
  2. Select "Subject" from the first drop-down, leave the second as "contains", and enter "musical settings" in the search box
  3. Add the name of the poet or other information, such as language, in the second search box and leave the drop-downs as default
  4. If you only want scores or recordings, use the Material Type drop-down or Filter the results listScreenshot of an advanced search in the library catalog; subject has been set to musical settings and the next line is set to "any field" with a keyword search for Goethe
