You may need to find monologues or dialogues for course assignments or auditions. The search tips and tools below can help you find them in the Library's print and online resources.
You can search the library catalog using "monologues" or "dialogues" as a keyword or subject heading to see what results are available. If you want to specify gender, you can do a keyword search for monologues and women (or monologues and men). To find monologues from nonbinary or genderqueer characters, check out the Non-Binary Monologues Project linked in the Online Tools tab of Suggested Resources below.
Please note that not all gender-specific monologue collections specify a gender in their title, so be careful when using a gender term in your search because you may end up excluding relevant results.
Using the Advanced Search feature, you can browse by subject in our Library catalog. This means conducting a search using a term from a pre-defined controlled vocabulary of headings used to classify materials in our catalog.

Alternate version: Play Index in the classic EBSCO user interface (best for exporting more than 50 results or combining saved searches). Index to more than 30,000 plays written from Antiquity to the present and published from 1949 to the present; includes mysteries, pageants, plays in verse, puppet performances, radio and television plays, and classic drama. All Play master records contain a link to the results of an Internet metasearch of specially selected Web sites to link to full text, criticism, and other useful information.
