The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign provides access to Planetscope data via a simple webform application (see Webform link) and rapid approval by a working committee. The process is necessary in that the campus-wide license permits access to a finite quantity of data, and we wish to ensure use across campus throughout the year. As we are able to assess data demand, we will adjust allowances if required, and applicants can bid for data use in separate research or teaching projects.
In order to use this data, users must ensure their application conforms to the conditions of the contract, which are given below, and importantly with no commercial use. In addition, if Planet imagery is used in publications, you must include an attribution that clearly and conspicuously identifies “Planet Labs Inc.” as the source of the Content. If you have any queries on this issue, please contact Mary Schlembach at email@example.com.
