EUC Summer Curriculum Workshop 2020

A research guide supporting the Summer Curriculum Workshop held by the European Union Center at UIUC (2020).

About the European Union Center

Founded in 1998, the European Union Center serves as the focal point for teaching, research, and outreach on the European Union at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Center is dedicated to promoting scholarly research on the EU, strengthening curricula on the EU across campus, educating the next generation of experts on EU and transatlantic affairs, and reaching out to K-12 educators and students, businesses, government leaders, the media, and the general public to deepen understanding between the peoples of the US and the EU. The EU Center also offers a Master of Arts in EU Studies.

Navigating the Library

The University Library at UIUC is the largest academic library at a public university in the United States.  We provide access to databases, millions of print and e-resources, online research guides, and enthusiastic librarians to assist in your research needs.

COVID-19 Information

Our hope was to provide workshop participants with information about using library materials in person at UIUC. Unfortunately, the library is closed to visitors during the pandemic, and online access is limited to those with U of I affiliation.

However, one of the following options may be available to you:

  1. Ebooks and journal articles may be requested via interlibrary loan at your home institution.  Contact your library to make a request for materials.
  2. Illinois K-12 teachers are eligible for an LH Courtesy Card which offers borrowing privileges and access to closed stacks.  If you'd like to get a Courtesy card when the Library reopens, please read the regular application instructions as well as the details of LH Courtesy Card privileges before visiting the Library.

What can we help you find?

Have additional questions or need help locating resources?  Try the Ask a Librarian online chat to connect to an information desk.  This service is still available while the library building is closed!

Related Research Databases

Access to these databases is unfortunately limited to those with UIUC affiliation since public access computers in the library are currently unavailable. However, we have left them in our research guide in hopes of future use when the library reopens. You may also have access through your home institution.
