Welcome!

Welcome to Illinois!

The library has an incredible amount of resources for you! Resources available include in-person help and virtual reference services. The library collection includes millions of print volumes as well as electronic resources. There are wonderful study spaces here for you. Try out Grainger, ACES, or Undergrad!

As a University of Illinois student, you have access to the second largest academic library in the country. We have over 30 departmental libraries, own 12,000,000 volumes, and subscribe to hundreds of online databases. A recent study showed that on an average day, over 14,000 people visited the libraries on campus, and over 5,000 unique visitors used the Library Gateway (http://www.library.illinois.edu/). For additional statistics see the Library Snapshot Day website: http://www.library.illinois.edu/services/snapshot/2011/index.html

We have much more than just books! The library at Illinois has many resources that you might not expect. These include:

  • Movies, CDs, audiobooks, and video games to rent
  • Laptops for in-library use
  • Many different kinds of technology for checkout
  • Graphic novels and comic books
  • Gaming Center with Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and a large screen TV
