Mendeley's Groups feature allows you to share documents and citations with others. With the free Mendeley account, users can create and own 5 private groups. There's no limit on the number of private groups free users can join, however each private group created by a free account can only have a maximum of 25 members, and 100 MB of storage is shared across all groups. These private groups are visible only to members, who can share papers and notes.

Mendeley's Papers allows you to search directly on Mendeley's site for academic journal articles, conference proceedings, book sections, and web pages, and add these to your Mendeley library. This search will show statistics like times cited and times read for these items.
