Resources for Global Studies - Your Window to the World

Welcome to the Library!

The University Library at Illinois is the largest publicly supported academic library in the United States.  We have over 13 million volumes in our print collection and numerous electronic resources as well.  This is fantastic  —  but how can you find what you are looking for?  This guide will lead you to many resources that may be of interest to you, but always remember that if you have more questions than answers about getting to these resources, the other librarians and I are more than willing to work with you.

Finding Your Way Around

The University Library is made up of many different units.  You may have gone to the Undergraduate Library for reserves and other items in the past, but there is soooooo much more available to you on this campus.  You might want to go to the Funk (ACES) Libraryfor very specific information about environmental topics, or even Grainger Engineering Library for specific information on other sciences.  The Main Library is a good place to begin however.  Here you will find the History, Philosophy and Newspaper Library and the Social Sciences, Health and Education Library, as well as the Main Stacks (Central Access Services).  Another important resource for your paper is the International and Area Studies library which includes reference resources for Global Studies.
