Database Design for Non-technical Researchers: Home

About this Guide

You spend hours collecting data. How do you organize the data and extract information to answer your questions? This guide is a complement to the database design workshop, and will cover important database concepts and principles of database design. Participants of the workshop will learn how to plan for efficient and effective data organization with skills that are applicable to databases such as Access and FileMaker Pro.

About the Savvy Researcher

The Library's Savvy Researcher workshop series brings information professionals together with graduate students and faculty to explore topics related to research and academic success. Some workshops are tool-based, some focus on a particular library resource, and others are topical, but the goal of all is to help you understand and use the library efficiently and effectively.

Additional Database Training

On campus, Technology Services provides two options for more in-depth database training.
