InterLibrary Loan/Document Delivery and I-Share

What is ILLiad?

ILLiad is the system that allows you to place Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery requests 24 hours a day. You can track your requests and download electronically received materials. For UIUC affiliates, your ILLiad account is set up automatically for you.

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan service will borrow materials for you from libraries across the globe if the materials are not available at the University of Illinois. Place a request by logging into ILLiad.

What is DocExpress?

A FREE copy service for materials owned by the University Library.  Requests for journal articles and book chapters can be placed by logging into ILLiad.

What is I-Share?

I-Share allows you to request materials from over 130 academic libraries within the state of Illinois and be sent to the University of Illinois for you to use. Search for and request items through the library catalog.

Citation Management Software

Simplify your life by using one of these programs to organize your references and insert them into papers and manuscripts. Some allow you to save and organize PDFs.

‚ÄčThis is a guide for resources available at the Veterinary Medicine Library.

  • The library is now temporarily located on the second floor of the Basic Sciences Building, in Room 2281. We will be here through the end of Summer 2017. 
  • Printing is available (even in color) from the computer to the left of the self-check machine. Printing charges are billed directly to your university account.
  • Two scanners are available to quickly create PDFs of book chapters and journal articles. There is no charge for scanning.

What do I do if X goes wrong?

If a staff member is present (Erin or Joella), ask them for help. Otherwise, call Library IT at 217-244-4688

What if I have a problem with my library account?

What do I do if Self Check crashes?

  • Reopen the program from the start menu: Start > All Programs > Voyager > CircSelfCheck
  • If this doesn't work, try restarting the computer.
  • If neither of these work, call Library IT at 217-244-4688

What about the public computer terminal?

Try restarting it. If this doesn't fix it, call Library IT at 217-244-4688
