2017 Activities

Join us in celebrating Open Access Week on October 23-27!  There will be several activities throughout the week in the University Library:

Have questions about what is and isn't true about Open Access? Do you want to learn more about copyright and your author's rights? Are you seeking ways to share your scholarship openly?  All are welcome to join our brownbag info sessions throughout the week on various topics related to Open Access:

Monday, October 23:  "A Crash Course in Open Access"  
Tuesday October 24:  "Scholarly Publishing and Open Access"  
Wednesday, October 25: "Authors' Rights and Copyright" 
Friday, October 27: "Sharing Your Research with IDEALS, ORCiD, and Illinois Experts" 

All workshops will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. in room 314 Library on the dates indicated.

Join us on October 26 for the kick-off of the Scholarly Communications Interest Group!  Anyone interested in scholarly communications, open access, publishing, open data, and related issues are welcome to attend the kick-off meeting for the Scholarly Communications Interest Group (SCIG) on the 26th at noon in room 106 Library. 
The SCIG is open to all faculty, staff, and students both in and outside of the Library. The first meeting will focus on discussing the landscape of scholarly communications today, as well as planning SCIG's goals and future activities.
