Introduction to Prezi: Create an Account

This guide accompanies the Savvy Researcher workshop, "An Introduction to Prezi." Prezi is a presentation software that uses "motion, zoom, and spatial relationships" to make your visual presentation more dynamic.

Create an Account

1. To create an account, visit prezi.com and click "Get started."

Next you will see a screen with three options requiring payment, two of them offering a free 14 day trial, and an option for a standard account that is free. Don't stop at this screen!

2.  Look to the middle right of the screen under Students and Teachers, and click on "Educational plans."

3.  Select and register for the type of account you would like to use.*

When creating an educational account, you have a few options:

Edu Standard (Unlimited presentations)

Edu Plus (Unlimited presentations, offline access $4.92 per month)

Edu Teams (Unlimited presentations, collaborator tools, variable rates depending on group size)

If you select the one of Education Licenses you will be required to register with a ".edu" e-mail address that identifies your institution (ex. namehere@illinois.edu).

*Note--If you already have an account you can upgrade to the EDU license.  Select "Upgrade" on the "Settings & Account" page, then Educational Plans.

4. Check your e-mail for the verification e-mail sent by Prezi. 

Follow the directions in the e-mail to finish registering for your account.  When you login to Prezi.com, your username will be your e-mail address.
