Finding English-Language Sources for Social Science Topics in Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia: CEEOL - Full Text

There are a multitude of resources that will lead a student to English language materials for the region but some are particularly valuable. This guide will help the student to find those at the UIUC library website, highlighting some of the best.

CEEOL

You can access the database "Central and East European Online Library" from the library's website by simply typing CEEOL in the main search box on the library's page at http://www.library.illinois.edu .  While many of the journals and articles here are published in the languages of the region there are also many articles in English.  You can limit your search to English language publications by selecting "English" from the drop down list of languages before performing your search.

There are some limitations to the search interface, for example you cannot search a range of years but must select one year at a time to search.  However, if you are looking for scholarly articles on timely topics for the region this is an excellent source.  The full text of each article is available by clicking on the blue"View" button to the right of the citation (not pictured here).
